Do not get an even bounce?

It is important to have a consistently flat underlying surface under the Flicx pitch, for this there is a certain amount of preparation. Please refer to the section on Installation and Care for an easy guide.Flicx Installation Video

The bounce is too low or too high?

The bounce of the ball off the Flicx Pitch is to a certain extent dependant on the underlying surface, this is very much like a turf pitch. A hard underlying surface will give you a high bounce, thus assisting seamers and a soft surface will give you a low bounce, thus assisting spinners. Should you wish to change the bounce off the pitch, you need to simply change the underlying surface. There are simple steps and some more complicated ones depending on what is required. i.e. by watering a hard underlying outfield, you will reduce the bounce, or if it is soft, you can easily roll the underlying surface with a medium weight roller. The type of ball will also affect the bounce off a Flicx Pitch. The softer the ball the higher the bounce, the harder the ball the lower the bounce. All types of cricket balls are suitable for cricket games on the Flicx Pitch.

How long will my Flicx pitch last?

The Flicx Pitch has been designed and developed to last a minimum of ten years, provided that you take proper care of it. Instructions are available through video, easy to follow instruction sheets and on our website. It has built in UV stabilizers, thus ensuring that it will withstand the sun's rays for up to ten years.

The interlocking mechanisms are breaking?

This generally happens when incorrect handling of the Flicx Pitch occurs. The Flicx Pitch has not been designed to be pulled over a rough surface, or to be carried by hand.
Flicx have developed a range of pitch handling equipment to make it easier and safer to transport the Flicx Pitch. This equipment covers Flicx Safety Gloves, Flicx Carry Straps and the Flicx Cradle.

Can I leave my pitch out for the full cricket season?

You certainly can, provided that you are not in an area where vandalism and theft occurs. It is best left out for the season as the grass will grow through the honeycomb surface giving you a turf effect. The pitch is simply rolled up at the end of the season and stored.

How do I cut the grass that grows through the surface?

This can be done with any standard lawnmower.  It is important to keep the lawnmower level with the surface of the pitch. It is also important to cut the grass at least once a week. This will provide a more consistent surface.

What balls can I use on a Flicx Cricket Pitch?

Any cricket ball , tennis ball, Slaz Ball or rubber ball can be used on a Flicx Pitch.  A good quality leather cricket ball will easily last a 50 over game while a cheaper ball shows a bit more wear and tear.

How does one "secure" the Flicx Pitch on a concrete surface?

The Flicx Pitch can be secured to concrete through the means of wall plugs and screws that are screwed through the specially made holes in the edging strips.

Additional edging strips can be placed at one meter intervals down both sides of the pitch. These are then secured in the same manner.
